The district is well known for its high quality fruit and wine. The vines are planted on quite steep, well-drained slopes with very complex soil types including rich heavy loam, clay, gravel and some areas of rich fertile sandy soils. The elevated position and cooling coastal sea breezes provide good air circulation during summer, giving optimum conditions for extended fruit ripening and flavour development and reduced chances of fungal disease. Clean, fresh water is supplied by a spring fed dam.


The Cabernet Sauvignon was planted in 2000, and as the vines age, is coming into itís own. The quality of fruit being produced is second to none.


The Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon was planted in 2006 and is already producing good quality fruit.
